From an entirely personal point of view based on many solid years of introspection, I had long arrived at various conclusions which I have not yet announced.
1989: President George H.W. Bush’s inaugural address invokes the vision of a "thousand points of light." President Bush establishes the Daily Point of Light Award for individuals making a difference. The award is now administered by Points of Light Institute.
Since the concept of the exalted waiting for the lowly is being applied, we mention the concept, share the information, and then exit just as quickly:
About Us
Points of Light Institute embraces service and civic engagement as fundamental to a purposeful life and essential to a healthy world. We have the history, the scale and reach, the leadership and the strategy to mobilize millions of people to tackle concrete, significant challenges.
The amazing Lyric,
"We have one thousand points of light, for the homeless man!" -Neil Young, Keep on Rocking in the Free World.
Therefore if we look to a politician for our inspiration we will truly be grasping at intangible ideas, like beams of light that will not change a thing. (Lets just say we now covered B, for Bush, and P, for politicians.) When we think of music, it may bring us Pleasure, from the same letter P, or we can use the letter Y, for Neil Young getting us one step closer to the letter Z. Exactly what we as individual must do to enable the much touted, and highly desired Paradigm-Shift info of the new age, we hope to embark upon is not yet really clear. The next post will be a true poem from my past.
